Grandmaster Jeffrey Lewis

Bio

Grandmaster Emeritus Jeffrey Lewis is the retired head of the American Order of Combat – BuDoKwan. He was the second Grandmaster in the history of AOC.  He’s also attributed to being a founding member.

Grandmaster Lewis is a proud military veteran who served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. His military training and certifications include the Advanced Infantry School, Escape & Evasion/Survival and firearms instructor.

In the Martial Arts, Grandmaster Lewis has trained in the arts of Korean Tang Soo Do and American Combat Bu Do Kwan. At one time, he served as the Chief Black Belt Instructor under Grandmaster Jae C. Shin of the United States Tang Soo Do Federation. 

Grandmaster Lewis has accomplished many things during his service to the country and local community. He’s certified as a Correction/Parole Officer, which was the career path he chose after serving in the United States Military.

His State of Virginia Military Service includes serving as the Senior Tac Officer for the 1st OCS Academy of Virginia Defense Force (1993 ) and a Major and Battalion Executive Officer, 2nd Battalion, 4th Brigade, based in Lynchburg.

 Although he has retired as Grandmaster to the AOC, he remains an intricate part of the Order by serving as a consultant and mentor to GM Thomann. Presently, he serves as Chief Instructor for the Eagle Training Institute located in Concord, Virginia.  Grandmaster Lewis is an inductee in the World Karate Union (WKU) Hall of Fame.
